IPhone 4

The iPhone 4 has a totally new design highlighted by the stainless steel band that serves as the antennae and the front and back glass Apple is touting as being around 7x more durable than plastic. It is the thinnest smartphone on the market, and also among the lightest at a little over 2 grams.The volume buttons were separated which may not sound like a big deal, but when it comes to ease of use it really is huge. A secondary mic was added for noise suppression, and the 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash capable of 720p video is a significant upgrade.

The secondary video call camera is what is going to allow you to use Apple’s new “Face Time” feature which is just another name for video calling really. The drawback is it will only work iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 right now, but Apple does plan to expand this somehow. The Retina Display upgrade is a tremendous leap forward in graphic clarity and quality. So far as the outside goes, this is a sweet unit.

Cracking the iPhone 4 open, the A4 chip which is the same one used on the iPad is what knocks your socks off. Among all the things it will do which are awesome, the thing you will really notice is that the power management feature it has is going to extend the battery life which has already been beefed up independently. Having 7 hours of call time is going to be nice without any doubt. The gyroscope is going to take gaming to a whole new level, but if you aren’t a gamer that won’t matter.

A big change is ditching the SIM card for the microSIM. You can’t transfer your old SIM card unless you shave it down which is a pain and not something everyone can necessarily do and not jack things up. The iOS  4 looks like it will be a killer platform. The multitasking actually worked in the demonstration Steve Jobs made and all demonstrations after his keynote speech at the WWDC so this is perhaps.

The big coming out is on June 24th and the price will be around 400$, i think i’ve never been that excited to see a new apple coming out since the IPhone 3G after being deceived by the 3GS and the IPad which is useless (but cool).

Vuvuzela 2010

As you know this year, the biggest sport event on the planet is going on down in South Africa and indeed it’s the 19th edition of the FIFA world cup !! =D, speaking about it there is a polemic about this african instrument called the “vuvuzela“, it’s a kind of very noisy trumpet that is used by supporters to make a lot of noises as a celebration or encouragement ritual, now some people asked the FIFA to ban the vuvuzelas in the stadiums. Of course the request was totally rejected because it’s part of the african culture and celebration traditions, but they decided to make new kinds of vuvuzelas less noisy. Anyways this app is currently in the top 25 of the best free apps in the app store, i think it’s very fun while watching some games to use it !

Angry Birds

The impossible test

Hello to all, i’ve been away for quite a while but im back with some new apps, well the impossible test is a quizz based on logic, i discovered it thanks to my very good friend back in the U.S who told me about it. This test has a good difficulty level and is really fun, too bad once you found out all the answers it gets kind of short. The game is openfeint enabled which makes it better cause you can post your highscores and try everytime to do a better one each time, and with a recent update you can listen to your own music while doing the test but i have to say there are bugs when using that feature.

the IPad

Besides this jewel of technology exposed in this vid, i just love the phrase “i don’t fit the product, it fits me”, this is really catchy, now what i think of it is a lot more complex, for me it’s like a big IPhone.

At today’s highly-anticipated media event, Apple announced the iPad tablet device, featuring a 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768 display and 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB capacities. Carrying a custom 1 GHz “Apple A4″ chip, the iPad weighs in at 1.5 pounds and is .5-inch thin. The iPad will be priced at $499, $599, and $699 for the varying capacity models without 3G, and $629, $729, and $829 with 3G. Wi-Fi only models are scheduled to ship in 60 days, with 3G-capable model shipping in 90 days. A video preview is also available.

In terms of standard connectivity, the iPad offers Wi-Fi (802.11n) and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, with 3G models also offering cellular data connectivity. All iPad models have an accelerometer, compass, speakers, a microphone, and a 30-pin dock connector. The iPad also offers a claimed 10 hours of battery life for viewing video, with 1 month of standby battery life.

Models with 3G will be unlocked and will be able to use GSM micro SIMs. In the U.S., AT&T will offer two data plan options – $14.99 for up to 250 MB per month and $29.99 per month for unlimited data. No contract is required for either option, and free access to AT&T’s Wi-Fi hot spots is included. Data packages for iPad users outside of the U.S. will by in place by June.

The iPad will have standard apps for personal information management, including an address book and calendar, along with e-mail, Safari, Google Maps, and Notes. A special version of iTunes is also on board to provide an optimized browsing experience on the device’s 9.7-inch screen.

BABEL Rising

BABEL Rising is a “tactical” game or “strategy”, i don’t really know how to describe the type, this application is a newbie in the appstore and already having a big success, it is even said that it might figure in 2010 best IPhone apps !. In the game you are God and you must stop the tiny slaves from building the huge tower with your great divine powers like earth quake, tsunami, lightnings, meteors, wind blow and of course the god finger !!, pretty hard but very nice to play, the game is openfeint enabled and you can achieve some success. Why is it addicting ?, because we all love to kill and control i’m guessing x), for me this app is one of the bests *thumbs up*.

Convertbot

Convertbot is a great application for (as you guessed) converting all types of units (almost),easy to use, great design and an excellent choice of units, you can get fast results for a quick question, or do like me… use it to finish your work lol, Tapbots has created 3 applications for now, this is the second one, the first one was a weight watcher and the third one is the pastebot which is used to paste stuff and editing them.

Chain Rxn

This is a game i discovered by the alternative of facebook xD, and i find out on the official site that there was an application available ^^, because i had great time playing this game on the net i thought to myself : why not buying it and have it everywhere with me ? lol. The app is very basic in all ways but very fun, the only goal is to do a better score every time and then post it on facebook to show off. Before the app was very expensive for what it was in it’s context… now the price is affordable and corresponds to it’s category, even though the game is very frustrating (really), the little sounds in the game makes it a bit relaxing and great to pass time.

X2 Football 2009

In my quest to find the best football game… after testing all games possible i came to the conclusion that X2 Football 2009 is for now the best application regarding that category, the gameplay is fluid and graphically good, the manipulation is also a lot more easier then the other apps where making a tackle becomes a challenge X.x, the sad thing is… we can only play with national football teams and no clubs, but the selection is quite big and that’s interesting for the player, still there is a little problem on the team’s skills… like Sweden has a better attack then Spain !!! WHAT THE HELL ? doesn’t mean Ibrahimovic is playing in Sweden that they are gonna be champions of the world !. Forgot to mention the app offers the possibility to review your goals

Shazam encore

The new edition of Shazam which is called: Shazam encore, the application offers faster responses and a better interface easier to use. I tested both can surely tell Shazam encore is totally faster and sometimes gives an answer for a song that the free application would never had, a little expensive for an apllication that has for only purpose recognizing songs… as you can see on the icon there is a special offer for this holiday season of 2,34€  just like the RED edition that will give all founds from the sell of the app to the fight against AIDS, i totally forgot about that that’s why i bought the normal edition otherwise I’d totally buy the RED edition, to finish Shazam is completing the wonderful application that helped me loads of time with fatser results and an easier interface.
